How to add a WhatsApp number to your Facebook Page
Updated over 2 months ago

To use a WhatsApp number in your CTWA Ad, connect it to your Facebook page.

You can connect multiple numbers. Remember that the primary number is the one people can reach by clicking a button on your Facebook page, while all connected numbers can be used in ads that click to WhatsApp.

Step 1: Access Settings

Go to your company's Facebook page and click the Settings* tab in the Manage Page section of the left-side menu.

*If the Settings tab is not clickable, switch to your page to enable edits.

Step 2: Linked accounts

In the Settings and Privacy menu, under the Permissions category, click on Linked Accounts and go to View WhatsApp.

Step 3: Connect a number

Click on the button Connect another number.

Important: If the WhatsApp API number is registered in the same Business Manager as this Facebook Page, the number will be automatically connected—go to step 4. If the WhatsApp API number is in another Business Manager, you will receive a PIN code to confirm the connection—follow steps 3.1 and 3.2.

Step 3.1: Send code

Add the WhatsApp number you want to use and Send code.

Step 3.2: Check your inbox

After sending the code, Meta should have automatically sent you a code to your WhatsApp Inbox.

Step 3.3: Confirm your WhatsApp account

After sending the code, a new popup will appear, prompting you to confirm your WhatsApp account.

Enter the code and proceed with the confirmation.

Step 4: All done!

You will now see the new number in the list of your WhatsApp numbers, which should also be available when creating ads for click-to-WhatsApp in your Meta Ads Manager.

Hiding WhatsApp Button from Facebook Page

If you don't want the WhatsApp button on your Facebook Page, you can attach a number to your Facebook without the WhatsApp Button appearing.

After adding your number, you just need to select 'Skip' when asked to Add WhatsApp Button, as the image below:

Then, whenever you want, you can edit and remove any action button from your Page, following the steps in this article.
